Moe Is Betta

It's somewhat of a recurring theme here on my blog ... in fact my last post is almost dedicated to this subject ... but far too many online businesses put far too much time and effort into SEO/traffic from search engines.

The truth is, if you want a sustainable business not subject to the whims of any one person/entity (e.g. Google) then you want traffic from as many different sources as possible.

In fact, "Moe is Betta" when it comes to this.  The more different places you are getting traffic from, the more stable, reliable, and scalable your business is.

You don't have to worry about Google slaps much, or if the latest update is going to turn your first position ranking into a 3rd page ranking.

You can rest easy knowing that you're getting so much traffic from so many other places that no one traffic source is making or breaking your company.

Here are just some places you should be getting traffic from:
  1. Organic Search (yes, as much as I bash on this, only an idiot would ignore it)
  2. PPC from Google and Bing
  3. PPC from Facebook
  4. Email list buys from nextmark.com (at least 5 different email lists)
  5. Joint Venture partnerships with other people in your market
  6. Local advertising in small local free newspapers (this is often MUCH cheaper than you think)

And that's only just SOME of the great sources of traffic that you should be getting.

What about using forums relevant to your market?  Or how about doing interviews with other major market players? And again, we're only just starting to scratch the surface of all the different ways you can get traffic to your site.

When you're getting traffic from so many different sources, it becomes REAL easy to make profits that will be the envy of every one else in your market.
